Well, if you’ve reached this point, you know your time loop, what you can change inside it, and your hapless fellow inhabitants pretty well. Now, it’s time to shift gears and really work on building your resources from loop to loop.
Resources? But everything resets? What can you possibly “build up”?
You.
If you’re keeping your memories from loop to loop, knowledge is currency. If you’ve been getting to know the locals, you’ve already started this in one sense. But this time we’re talking about skills that will make these loops easier and easier to navigate.
Tired of spending half an hour talking hockey with Joey from the deli counter before he’ll bring you into the walk-in freezer? Learn to pick the lock.
Rather than rounding up his son to translate for you, wouldn’t it be nice to speak with Mr. Park in fluent Korean? Ask how to say a few words each loop, and slowly build your way there.
You know you’ll get mugged if you visit the warehouse district after dark, but there’s a boxing gym and an old guy willing to give tips.
Over the course of innumerable loops, you can learn a lot. A LOT, a lot. Obstacles that may have seemed insurmountable or impractical within the constraints of time and travel within your loop may be achievable if you pick up the right set of skills.
However, this step can be ludicrously time-consuming. So alongside your self education, you’re ready to proceed to the next step.
- Step One: Recognizing a Time Loop
- Step Two: Changing Things
- Step Three: Getting to Know the People
- Step Four: Learning New Skills
- Step Five: Avoiding Boredom [UP NEXT]
- Step Six: Escaping the Time Loop
